Application of Daniel 10

Application of Daniel 10

Here we are taught the triumph of persistent and humble prayer. We are given insight into the supernatural forces involved when a believer engages in protracted and earnest prayer. Mighty forces are unleashed when righteous people devote themselves to prayer. Delayed responses to prayer may result from a great conflict between good and evil.

Jesus stated that angels in heaven are assigned to believers (Matthew 18:10). Hebrews 1:14 asks, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” Based on the Lord’s revelation to Daniel, these angels run into resistance from demonic powers. It is clear that every Christian is involved in a great conflict.

Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:11-12).

The only offensive weapon the believer has against the Devil is the Word of God. Look at the effort Satan exerted to keep Christ from delivering the understanding of His revelation to Daniel. What do you think the Adversary and his forces do to keep Christians from reading and
studying the Scriptures?

The Scriptures cannot be understood by an unregenerate person (1 Corinthians 2:6-9). Unconfessed and uncleansed sin produces guilt that hinders the believer’s understanding. The believer needs the mind of Christ to comprehend the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10-19) as illustrated by Daniel’s experience.

Daniel prevailed in persistent prayer; though Satan’s resistance delayed the answer, it came. Keep praying—we cannot see what is going on behind the scenes in the invisible realm. Might our prayers strengthen the side of good in the great conflict?

There is a close relationship of demonic rulers with world leaders of nations and governments. But these principalities and powers will be overthrown when Christ returns.

The sight of Christ in His glory will be breathtaking. Some will fall in adoration to their hands and knees, face down and confess that He is Lord; others will fall down in absolute terror before Him!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11).
